CHRISTY O HARRIS received a Master of Fine Arts in Dance and Somatics from University of Colorado at Boulder, and certification from the American Society for the Alexander Technique after completing a 3 year, 1500 hour training at Alexander Technique Institute of Boulder CO. She served as adjunct faculty in the Movement Studies department at Naropa University and CU-Boulder from 1998-2008 until relocating to Kauai, Hawaii.
A dedicated student of Rinzai Zen meditation and Yang style Tai Chi, she completed yoga certifications in 2016 and 2023, and has developed a somatic approach to yoga and restorative stretching. Her teaching methodology is characterized by anatomical mapping, hands-on guidance with verbal cues, repetition, refined simplicity, and spontaneous discovery and response.

JUNKO TAMAOKI was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, and her yoga journey began in 2009. She was very surprised to learn “effortlessness” during practice by the teacher, and it has impacted her life and teaching. She moved to Oahu in 2010 and started Bikram yoga studies. In 2019, she completed RYT-200 hour training in Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin, and started to teach for tourists at the beaches and hotels in Waikiki. In 2021, she completed RYT-300 hour training in Ashtanga and Iyengar Yoga with amazing teachers, and their experiences and knowledge are her gifts to share.
Daily practice is a good check list in her life. Since studying under Yoko Fujiwara, she believes accurate practice means no injuries. Good health brings happiness to you, your family and friends. She loves teaching and to see people smile.
“The yogi learns to forget the past and takes no thought for the morrow. He lives in the eternal present” -BKS Iyengar
